Space Activities

Out-of-This-World Activities

Children often wonder about the moon and stars they see in space. You don’t need to know a lot about astronomy to observe and talk about the night sky. Take a few minutes on different nights to look at and talk about what you and your children see in the sky.

  • Can you see the moon? How does it look different tonight compared to other nights?
  • Is it easier to see the stars when there is a full moon or no moon? When it’s clear or cloudy?
  • Which do you think is farthest away, the moon or the stars? (the stars)
  • What star do we see during the day but not at night? (the sun)
